In 2005, The Hearing Coach founder Lisa Caldwell went deaf in her right ear and gained buzzing tinnitus. Feeling lost, Lisa began a journey of discovery, researching and trialing a range of tinnitus solutions. She uncovered a natural process called mindfulness meditation which became the key to unlocking a rich and fulfilling life, even with tinnitus. Now certified as a mindfulness meditation instructor, Lisa has developed customizable tools and training designed to improve the lives of millions who struggle with tinnitus every day.  Lisa lives in the UK with her husband, Sean and rescue dog, Ziva.

Peter Vernezze, “There is currently no method that can safely and consistently reduce the loudness of tinnitus. But that doesn't mean you are powerless. There is now a substantial body of evidence demonstrating the ability of mindfulness training to reduce tinnitus distress. I am a licensed therapist and qualified teacher of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), the gold standard of mindfulness training, through the University of California at San Diego Center for Mindfulness--one of the few institutes in the U.S. able to certify teachers of MBSR.”

Dr. Hubbard’s CBT program is designed to help us calm down and function better with tinnitus. We learn to hear our tinnitus effectively, without being hijacked by gloom and doom thinking and unrealistic wishes that the sounds would stop. Achieving this ability helps us more calmly and effectively concentrate with tinnitus, relax with tinnitus, sleep with tinnitus. The goal is full recovery from the emotional and attentional burden of tinnitus, to feel and behave like ourselves again!
